I am just getting started with this great book. I am not reading it like a novel, and it is not so intended to be read. Fr. Quoist has a unique relationship with God and it is worth my time to get to know his writing. I like that he writes God's response to his prayers.
What a wonderful collection of prayers. These are encouraging and convicting in many ways. They help us look at our lives a little differently while we're here on this earth. I liked to read one prayer each day before I start my day.
I've owned this for years and love every prayer in it. Far from the rote and mind numbing prayers you could recite in your sleep, this book provokes you into seeing prayer as a way of life every day in every aspect.
I love MIchael Quoist! His prayers talk to my own experience in faith: my doubts, reluctances, failures, advances - the best and the worst, in a way that inspires me to keep walking. When I share the prayers with the youth, though, I usually edit them to make them shorter, more "straight to the point".
