Sorry Ru - love you, gurl, but this is such a superficial little pamphlet (I could hardly call this a book - books have more substance!) I was very disappointed in this purchase - no real insight into Ru as a person beyond generic spiritual advice and tips about how to pack a suitcase that you could read in any mainstream travel mag. The book looks pretty, but honestly just seems like a quick way for Ru to cash in on a resurgence in popularity due to RPDR. (Plus the diet advice is fairly unscientific, and...does Ru really eat this little? Like, all the time? Do we really want to encourage more eating disorders in our community? A bit off-putting....)I wish I could have afforded his old autobiography, because apparently that's way more in-depth a look at his life. I re-sold this slender volume of fluff to a local bookstore within days of receiving it in the mail, honestly.

I am a big Ru fan. I love his podcast and listening to his interviews. He has a depth that is so unique in today's world. In this book, Ru imparts his wisdom and shares tips and tricks for looking great. The book is short, as other reviewers have said, but I really liked it. I also really liked looking at the photos.

Love Rupauls and her advice as a guide to a better life and understanding of ourselves. Ru goes in depth on her own take of her career, public life, and the life style she espouses. It's full of encouragement and do it yourself techniques that make you stand up and say, "Yeah, I am good enough to be loved by someone, especially myself."Rupaul gave me what I hadn't had in years with this read, encouragement and drive. Workin' It! Is always great for a pick me up personally and I don't take her talk as psychobabble so much as life experience and success that is humbly done right.

I love RuPaul, I'm obsessed with RuPaul. The are some gems in here but for the most part it's a pamphlet or magazine article, not a book. Lots of pictures and huge type. I'm going to have to shell out mega bucks for his out of print autobiography cause this doesn't cut it. Sorry Ru!

I was surprised at how spiritual Ru is, but it makes a lot of sense. I'd hoped to have more of such insights and life experiences and how he's chosen to deal with things, but for the price, the first few chapters and last chapter or two were acceptable. The middle focused a lot on his experience and knowledge of fashion, hair, make up, and excellent tips and information for budding drag queens. For me, it was cool to learn more about the lifestyle and honestly, I'd agree, being a drag queen is NOT for sissies, not the way he describes it. You better LOVE what you're doing! wow!!! Ru's writing style is easy flowing and because there's a lot of photography in the book, it was, for me, a quick read. I read the entire book last evening. I love the confidence and insights Ru offers. It's inspirational and motivational. I'm actually now interested in seeing what his other books may be about because of this one.

I admire RuPaul, RuPaul’s drag race has brought me a lot of joy in some very trying times. RuPaul’s Drag U is what referred me to this book, and frankly, Ru’s belief system is interesting; full of positivity, authenticity, and an effort to genuinely believe in oneself, it’s a worthwhile read. My sole complaint, is, that the explanation of the components of drag-while interesting- had been given more of an introduction than it was. That being said, knowing now the intricacies of what they go through, those Queens WORK.

I live this book! There are multiple insights one can use if interested in beginning drag. The best part is the message of love from Mama Ru. We all may struggle with insecurities and challenges, and RuPaul shares with us guidance that can be applied to every path toward individual truth, happiness, and contentment. Thank you!

Since the advent of the internet, most all of this content is available online and the wedding vows I found online were far better than what's in this little book. But my dad has a book like this and his dad had a book like this, and now I have a book like this, so it gets two stars instead of one.

So far I have performed 3 weddings using the book and so far so good we'll see if they take.Folks have stayed married and others have stayed buried!

I had a previous version of this book I relied upon heavily when formulating wedding ceremonies. That copy was temporarily unavailable during a move so I bought another copy. What I found was a much, much smaller book, physically, smaller print, and almost no sample material for wedding ceremonies for me to share with couples.

By far the second most important book in a ministers library (after the bible). #1 resource! I keep one in the office, one in my car and one in my study. We all know whats in here, but its a great resource for reference.

The book is fine with exception there is not much choice for Scriptures where as the Nelson Book for Ministers has a great selection.

This little book was recommended to me and I'm glad because it teaches you a lot about ministry especially if God has called you into the ministry. A must read and needed book in anyone's ministry library

Ministers handbooks are an important tool for all Pastors and Ministers. Weddings, funerals, building dedications, and many scriptures related to assist in whatever church event.I had to return this book for one reason only, it did not have a section on baby dedications. Baby dedications are not done by all denominations but is a part of most and should be included in any Ministers Handbook; that's why the 4 stars

Got this for my nephew. I knew he would be playing Pokémon Go a lot less now that it isn't summer anymore, so actually reading a book about it seemed like a good compromise.He read it from beginning to end, there were lots of pictures and text was fairly simple, only a few times did he ask his dad "what does this word mean?" He did say though that some of the information was stuff he already knew, but that there were items in there that he didn't know already that were useful (like catching Pikachoo, which is his favorite Pokémon).Skimming through the book myself, it seems like it could be more condensed, like the author wrote two paragraphs when one would have been enough. But it kept my nephew entertained, so I'm happy.

If you have never installed Pokémon Go and want to know the tips and tricks for starting the game, then this is the book for you. If, however, you have already been playing this game for more than a week, skip it.The problem with buying a printed guide for a game that updates weekly is that by the time the book was published, half of the information is no longer valid. This book includes tips and tricks that are wrong and outdated, and fails to mention all the new features. (Like those added last week. And a few days ago. And tonight. See the problem?)The book says ages 7+ and seems like it was meant for children, but is more likely to find a home with elderly players who are still confused by mobile gaming and need a physical copy of the Pokémon type chart.

Book attempts to plug into the PoGo craze, but is also a bit of a case of too little too late. Much of the information presented here is no longer correct, and now very outdated with Niantic's September patches. Eeveelution trick was biggest 'hack' in book, and if google "eevee evolution" you'll see how well known this trick is, so the tips might not generate as much bang for your buck, as say....6 incubators would.Print book CAN be helpful if you haven't picked up the game yet at all and want to turn pages instead remember or use a search engine to remember type-match ups, otherwise the tips provided aren't that advanced / based on old information, and most players are probably better off hitting google, or even youtube

Disclosure: I was given the book and a keychain in exchange for an unbiased review.This is very much a beginners guide, rather that a book of "Mini Hacks." The only hacks I found were for catching Pikachu, and for evolving the three Eevees.That being said, this book is a great beginners guide. It walks the reader though everything you need to know when starting out. The information was laid out simply and is easy to understand. Anyone who has played the game before does not need this book. I recommend it for older people who want to check the game out, or those who don't like to use Google.

Bought this for my son as a followup up to another hack book, because he and his friends are obsessed with Pokemon. They love---great tips!

I thought this guide served as a solid intro guide to the game and covered the basics of getting going in the game. There are a lot of screenshots that help clarify things. The best part is that it's not overly complicated and is filled with reference guides and charts like other game strategy guides, which I thought was helpful. However, this is not really a book for advanced players or high schoolers, and is more of a beginner's guide or for those of a younger audience. Also, it doesn't include information from some of the more recent updates of the game. All in all, it is a good jumping off point for Pokemon Go for beginners or those who need a good catch up, and if you're interested in playing the game, I'd recommend starting off with this gudie.

In a world where the intellectual class nearly uniformly despises Donald Trump, the celebrated historian Victor Davis Hanson has arrived to offer a clear-eyed evaluation of how Trump became President, and what that may mean for the immediate future. This is not a propagandistic defense of Trump, but an analysis of his campaign and his Presidency so far, viewed from atop the shifting sands of America’s political landscape. I doubt if this book will make Hanson popular with liberals. Nor will it make him popular with the #NeverTrumpers, but I’m also pretty sure he’s left them behind already, for the same reasons that voters left them behind—all of which Hanson outlines in this book.The first part of the book covers the split of America into the coastal elites, who have the power and the money, and the despised denizens of flyover country, who have neither power nor money. This is fairly well-trodden ground, most recently (with variations) by Tucker Carlson in "Ship of Fools." Trump’s candidacy was initially treated as a joke (I literally laughed when I heard it, myself), but the elites put up the very worst candidate possible, both in the abstract and for the immediate purpose, and Trump showed the deplorables he was willing and able to fight for them (whether that has come to pass is irrelevant for the question of his election, of course). None of this analysis is all that original, but it is well-written and interesting.The second part of the book covers the reaction to Trump of the existing structures of governmental power, who (no surprise) are closely tied to the coastal elites—what Hanson cleverly calls the ancien régime. Trump, like everyone else, had no idea of the lengths to which this group, the Deep State, would go to reverse the results of the election, a process through which we are still living. Justice is, of course, irrelevant—the goal is to get Trump, however they can. So far, they’ve come up empty, and Trump is laughing at them, as at his two-hour speech last week at the Conservative Political Action Conference.The question, of course, is who will have the last laugh. I’m putting my money on Trump, because I suspect that his enemies have already shot their bolt, and their reach has exceeded their grasp. Absent some economic disaster, Trump is going to be re-elected, and keep remaking the country to some extent. True, that’s not a great enough extent, but it’s a lot more than any other Republican would have done. So far, he’s been a huge success, by any objective measure, if not everything I wanted, or that those who elected him wanted. He just needs to stay the course, and, fortunately, there is every indication that is exactly what he is going to do.

VDH is an erudite and calm objective historian and narrator of times past and current. History is not what anyone wishes that would have happened. History is what happened, and happens, like it or not. Too many of our claimed "historians" are propagandists, not historians. VDH is a historian of wars and culture, of life and of people."Ancien régime", aka, our current Ship of Tools, or, your arrogant 'superior' 'intelligentsia', or, they have learned nothing at all since 2016 and consider you all to be ignorant naive hicks. You sustain their high perches. You have the power to poke holes into their nests, while they sit high up and snicker at you, but they are so few.Deplorables, you are the many and you have the power to vote against them. Exercise all your rights. You are free and powerful. They are just a handful of bitter losing fools. They have and want to destroy the Middle Class of the USA, which is a travesty for the country and the world.Les Deplorables™, a most wonderful insult transitioned into a gift, from Hillary Clinton, you did it once, you will do it again, for the USA and for all the free people of the world, but especially for all who aim to be free. Many times when you're looking at a problem, you have to back away, distance yourself, be able to look at it from a different perspective. That's what I think Victor Davis Hanson did in explaining objectively how this outside Trump with no political experience or backing, even with the polls on the day of the election, pointing to his loss, won the 2016 election. He gave the people what they were looking for. He told them what they wanted to hear. He put his money, not campaign or PAC money, where his mouth is. He spoke his way into office. Yes, he might be crazy. He might be arrogant. He might be politically incorrect. But his accomplishments thus far, the successes he has achieved, are the same as the things he told his followers he was campaigning for.

This is fantastic insight from a brilliant man. If I had my choice of dream dinner guests #1 would be Mark Steyn and #2 would be Dr. Hanson. VDH is a gift from God and I will cherish his written words till my dying day. Also, the opposition to Trump is extremely misguided and false and the facts laid out in this book prove it. If you care about facts above feelings please read this book.

Dr. Hanson is a great writer, serious and informative. This is the most neutral book about Trump I've read. Facts are the most important things.

Hanson is a brilliant observer who writes with the long view of politics and government of a classical historian to put the Trump Revolution into perspective. He explains how it happened and what it means, Get the book and share it with everyone that you know.I’ve read all of Hanson’s work and they do not disappoint -he wrote a book (Mexiformia) years before anyone else noticed we didn’t have as much as a fence along much of our border.
