It is a well written book that anyone who knows a little about c# can learn easily.
I tried out Safari Books Online recently and didn't like it. In particular, I missed having page numbers. So I wanted the next book I read to be a “well formatted e-book.†I picked Manning. I like that they give you a variety of formats to choose from. And it seemed like a good time to read a book on something I know nothing about. I picked Xamarian.I chose to mainly read PDF (on iPad) and a bit of LiveBook (on laptop). Both were well formatted. The code and image sample matched just what a paper Manning book would look like.On to the content. I like that chapter 1 doesn't assume knowledge of mobile apps. I was able to review the little I new (or forgot) from the past along with learning new information to prepare me for this book.Concepts were clearly explained including the MVVM (model view view model) design pattern. The book clearly progressed as the material got harder. I like that there were chapters on testing and monitoring.The diagrams were really helpful in learning. Some were images of a mobile app screen with pointers to important pars. Some were flow diagrams. Even how to use the IDE was clearly diagramed.I didn't read the entire book because I'm not actually doing Xamarian development. But I got an appreciation of what it is/how it works. Which was my goal.
