I really enjoyed this book it was a refreshing new way to look at ODC, I have to say it was a little steamy but I liked it and it was funny with Elizabeth trying to overcome the difficulties with being a man and having a mans response. Yes if I was in a mans body I sure would explore and I’m sure a man would do the same thing. I lol when Darcy as Elizabeth experienced a mensuration it was so well written.
Such a clever look at how people respond to the familiar/unfamiliar and how they worked through their hilarious mix up! A fresh idea and well presented. A bit of grammar error but nothing that distracts. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and look forward to more of her work.
A competently written story originally published on FanFiction website. It contained greatly truncated timeline as nearly all the events occurred in a short period immediately following the Netherfield Ball (sans the departure to London). As a consequence of the "swap†the general storyline deviated to some degree away from its traditional format; however, there were no moments of great drama incorporated into it - just a bit of scheming & the occasional episode of bad behaviour. The tale's various romances concluded in a number of marriages, none of which were mismatches nor unions of convenience.The author's obsession with bodily functions which she felt obliged to explicate in the text, including Elizabeth & Darcy's reactions to sundry physical situations & occurrences, detracted from its overall pleasant tone & almost persuaded me to abandon the book. There were a few editing errors (eg incorrect conjunctions, chronologically inappropriate words) which marred the storytelling. I am glad I read the Kindle Unlimited version & did not purchase a permanent copy. I would have preferred the rate this variation at 2.5-stars but have rounded up my score as, essentially, it wasn't an unappealing effort.
This is indeed a very fun variation, there are a few spelling and grammatical errors, but nothing too glaring. I would’ve loved to see more development of the other supporting characters, there is a lot going on that seems to be glossed over with a few sentences that I would’ve like to have had explored more in depth (Caroline’s plotting, Wickham’s deeds and fate, Mr. Collins plans). I also do not think it was necessary to quote Mr. Collins’ proposal word for word from Austen, there was definitely room for more creativity in this chapter. All in all, this was a very fun and enjoyable fanfiction that just needs a bit more polish.
I was not expecting much when acquired this book through KU, but the author managed to walk the fine line of keeping a story such as this as close to the realm of reality as possible. The story does have several amusing moments with about three seconds of angst thrown in for good measure. Read via KU.
I had read and enjoyed an earlier version of this story but this published version add a lot of details that allowed me to be dream into the story and made it believable despite the fantasy element. Rather than relying on angst and misunderstanding, this book does a nice job of showing E and D's growth as individuals and as a couple, learning to understand themselves, eachother, and those around them. I love how Darcy in particular leaned to care about Elizabeth's family and really become one of them.
All in all an excellent read. I do love the body swap trope, and this delivered remarkably well.Darcy dealing with being female was a riot, and Lizzy having to suddenly be the man in all exchanges and interactions is not to be missed.I could have wished for a few more foibles and mishaps, but the story was centered on this couple finding out what their true feelings are as well as the true character, circumstance, reality, and hardships of their counterpart. I definitely recommend.
Cute story of how Darcy and Elizabeth find themselves inhabiting each other's bodies one starry night. As they learn about each other and come to appreciate the outside forces each deals with they also team together to fix other situations. Unfortunately the use of modern expressions and typos detract from the creativity. Still, a way to pass a pleasant afternoon.
