Heavy Duty reference material ... not completely accurate Polytheism review of Morman's but close enough.However, Dr. Geisler has a lifetime of reference material in the first of a series here! This book was purchased for the reference value and Spinoza to Hume is well represented material. I would expect a serious student to spend at least six months to a full year plowing through this exhaustive coverage of Theology!The Aquinas Theological argument is worth the price alone. I also bought this book for the "cumulative philosphical and scientific evidence for an origin of the material universe provides a strong reason to conclude ..." Robert Jastrow (agnostic astronomer)Yes! Buy this book!

Most of the time we need it all laid out for us. We need to see the beginning and the end. Geisler is superior in walking us through the basics and when we look back we are not standing at the bottom of the hill but traversing up it. A great start.

Norman Geisler's Four Volume set puts most systematic theologies to shame. It is one of the most highly respected and detailed theologies that I know of. This is an absolute must have resource for any pastor, teacher, or theology student. It will cover nearly every possible detail concerning the Bible. It is heavy reading and sometimes difficult to keep up with, but it is well worth reading.

This book is pristine and priced way under it's practical value.Geisler starts with God as his beginning as we all should learn to do. He is not taking anything for granted. Mastering these concepts will put you on firm apologetic grounds. Just this 1st volume will stretch your understanding and grow your own answers catalog.

Great Item!

The two things I like most about this book are the lack of typos, and the chapter structure, in which each successive chapter builds on the security and lessons preened from previous chapters. A great Cisco router security reference.

CiscoPress's "Cisco Router Firewall Security" by Richard Deal is designed as a book to secure perimeter routers. It is both a practical (and much needed) CiscoPress guide on how to harden a key piece of the network AND an excellent tool for any potential CCIE candidate (either for the Security and R&S lab). On pretty-much every page are either detailed diagrams or complex configurations discussing the topic at hand.The other reviews of this book all comment from a security perspective, and I cannot hope to add anything new to these reviews (especially Richard Bejtlich's review). I can comment from the perspective as someone studying for the CCIE. In Parts 3 and 4, the book dives into the different types of ACLs that you may encounter on the lab. Reflexive ACLs, CBAC (Content-Based Access Control), and NBAR (Network-Based Application Recognition) are each given their own chapter and fully explained in depth (something not replicated in other CiscoPress books - I own over 50 CiscoPress books). I particularly like the discussion on page 308 on how best to counter a Smurf Attack. Chapter 13 on Lock-and-Key ACLs is also a valuable must-read for any potential CCIE candidates. In chapter 17, on page 679, is a great discussion on how to counter a TCP SYN flood attack.Overall, I think "Cisco Router Firewall Security" is the best CiscoPress book published that discusses best-practices for securing Cisco routers. Too be honest, I am kind of surprised I do not see more 'noise' on this book (either from reviews here or on the CCIE list at Groupstudy.com). I have to believe it is from the title, as the title almost implies that this is a firewall book. That is too bad, as this is an excellent book for any network admin concerned about security. Weighing in at over 850 pages, this book will take some time to digest, but will be well worth the effort!I give this book 5 pings out of 5:!!!!!

I really enjoyed reading Cisco Router Firewall Security (CRFS) by Richard Deal. This book delivers just what a technical Cisco book should: discussion of concepts, explanation of command syntax, and practical examples. The author offers several ways to solve a security problem and then recommends his preferred choice. He correctly leans towards applying cryptography when available and avoids clear-text authentication methods or control channels. If you avoid the first chapter and keep a few minor caveats in mind, I would consider CRFS to be a five-star book.CRFS covers all of the major technologies I hoped to see in a book on Cisco security functions. Though published in August 2004, it manages to provide details on the newest Cisco IOS features that contemporary books often ignore. For example, the author emphasizes the benefits of configuring SSH access, and not only SSHv1; he explains that SSHv2 is preferred. I found the book's coverage of access control lists to be very clear, and I appreciated the author's discussions of strengths and weaknesses of different ACL types. Mr. Deal is also very conscious of the load placed on the router whenever higher-end security features or traffic inspection is invoked. His warnings provide operational insights to using IOS security features. Beginning with chapter 3, each section presented just the information I needed to implement various security features.I gave CRFS four stars, and not five, because I found some of the author's perceptions of security to be confusing or sometimes wrong. He repeats at least five times the oft-quoted but never substantiated myth that "70 percent of network attacks" are internal. This is completely backwards, according to CSI/FBI and Secret Service studies that say around 70 percent of attacks are caused by outsiders. While some of the most devastating incidents are indeed perpetrated by insiders, the majority of attacks continue to be launched from outside the security perimeter. While this point may not seem that significant, it is not a solid footing on which the author can justify certain security recommendations.While reading CRFS I also sensed that neither the author nor his technical editors were security professionals. I do not mean that they do not or have not handled security incidents. In fact, several of Mr. Deal's stories explicitly and properly address intrusions and other events. Rather, I sensed the author and his team were networking professionals first, with security duties tacked on. For example, p. 8 lists applications, the OS, and network infrastructure as "threats to your company's network." These have vulnerabilities -- they are not threats. On p. 28 Mr. Deal says "SSL can protect only web application traffic," but this is wrong. Pages 31-33 lists "some of the most common" DoS attacks, but the explanations there of chargen and ping of death attacks are wrong. WinNuke, a Windows DoS exploit from 1997, is also listed! Page 94 says "IDS solutions are still in their infancy," although they have been deployed for over 10 years. These and related security misperceptions made me believe a person with a primary security role should have reviewed CRFS.It is easy to overlook these security faux pas, however. CRFS does a better job describing some security issues than other security-focused books. For example, I found the coverage of the effects of DoS attacks upon a router to be better than books specifically written about DoS! Mr. Deal frequently advocates monitoring as a way to know what is happening on the network, and I found his IDS deployment guidance to be sound.To the extend I could evaluate Mr. Deal's discussion of Cisco features, I believe they are correct. One notable exception involves using the established keyword with ACLs. On p. 269 and elsewhere, the author claims "the established keyword looks to see if the ACK, FIN, PSH, RST, SYN, or URG TCP control flags are set. If they are, the TCP traffic is allowed in." This is incorrect; established looks for only the ACK or RST flags. This is not a major concern as other filtering options provide better defense anyway.Overall, I consider CRFS to be an excellent piece of work. I am adding it to my recommended reading lists and I strongly suggest than anyone using Cisco routers in their perimeter read and heed this book. Keep an eye out for Mr. Deal's next book on building VPNs with Cisco gear.

Cisco Router Firewall Security by Richard A. Deal delivers exactly what the title says: using a Cisco router for every possible perimeter security scenario. The book is written for someone who has at least an intermediate level knowledge of Cisco router and switching technologies. Advanced security consultants may want to go to Chapter 21, Case Study Configuration, and refer back to the previous chapters for more explanation when needed. However, those responsible for network security should read the entire book to be familiar with all of the latest security features that Cisco routers are capable of as well as a number of vulnerabilities that should be hardened, when possible.Deal fills in much of the lacunae of Cisco IOS configuration that are left out of certification handbooks. His sprinkling of many anecdotes from his personal experience makes the book immensely practical. For example, the author points out that Reflexive Access Control Lists can be used as a less expensive substitute for Content Based Access Control when filtering traffic for a few dozen users.Deal's book will prepare you to deal with special situations where company policy demands something different than what a firewall in a box solution offers. As he shows you how to accomplish Intrusion Detection, Content Filtering, Security Logging, Virtual Private Networking, Denial of Service Prevention, and Access Management solutions with Cisco routers, he points out when these features should be used with a router or dedicated equipment, like the PIX firewall. I give Deal 5 stars for the layout and structure, which includes notes, cautions, tables, and configurations. But what I found most valuable was his many real life illustrations from his consulting business.

Great review book. Questions are almost exactly like the ones on the FP-C exam. I studied this book exclusively for 3 weeks until about a week before my test when IAFCCP released their online study tool. I went through it one time and didn't find it to be as helpful except it showed that this book is a little lacking on the CAMTS requirement questions. I studied the CAMTS pdf off their website with Back to Basics for that last week and made a 93 on my first attempt on the test. This is the first product I recommend when people ask me how to study for FP-C/CCP-C.

I'm taking the CCT course in a couple of months, and purchased this as a primer and to see what I should brush up on before attending. I was happy to find that my paramedic program did an excellent job at some non-flight/non-CCT topics. I also found some topics which I need to study. For that purpose, the book worked for me.However, there were several issues I had with the text. Some are minor - like spelling mistakes or other small typos - sentences that are fragments or skip a thought. The occasional Wikipedia reference in the middle of the answers (linking to an actual reference listed in the end notes, but still an editing mistake) was amusing. There were some larger issues, though. I found several instances where a question would ask about one topic with possible answers that didn't make any sense, and the explanation would talk about a completely different topic. Then the following question would be related to the previous explanation, but would have it's own, appropriate explanation.As long as you don't mind some editing errors, it is a good book for the price.

Just successfully passed my FP-C. This book was my primary text with a good volume of questions and rationale. I studied this material until I not only mastered the answers but the rationale behind each answer. To be honest this is one of several resources I used. I also used:1. FAST by William Wingfield.......(I'd recommend purchasing this one as well)2. William Wingfields FP-C video review course (watched it twice)3. Quizlet (Look for FP-C review flashcards)4. FlightBridge.I over-studied......but felt like I passed fairly easily because of my preparation. Hope this helps.

I took and passed the CFRN test in October and was surprised by the amount of info that was not in this or the FlightBridges material. You obviously need to know the emergency and critical care elements that are reviewed in this book, but if you are looking to fly you had better already know those areas stone cold. The elements of aircraft operations and flight physiology that are found in AMRM is what you really need to be successful. This book is a very small piece of the preparation, not a " this is the only book you need" kind of thing.

Just passed the FP-C exam. This book covered a lot of content and had questions very similar to the actual exam. Only qualm is that there are many questions where either there is a major typo which changes the question leading to the answer making no sense (e.g what to do for an “ethanol overdose” then the answer says to give fomepizol and explains what to do for an ethylene glycol overdose) or the explanation contradicts the answer given (e.g the letter given as correct doesn’t match the explained answer).I would overall highly recommend this book but be prepared to be very frustrated by the little errors.

This was my main book I used for FP-C and passed first time. Questions are similar to FP-C and the question explanations are very detailed for the most part so if you don't know a subject it will help you understand the material. I found a few questions that were marked wrong so that was frustrating taking time to investigate it but these were few and far between. Overall a great book.

Very useful book. Helped me study for national CCTP board exam. Great format and explanations for answers where very helpful.

Although a good study guide overall I found many mistakes. Questions with no correct answers and then the explanation would talk about another issue completely. Question 8 in Ch 1 pg 15 for one, picture below. So be ready to research any questions you think may be incorrect. I would not use this as a sole study guide. It made me question many of the authors rationals.

I am half way through the book and have found that shifting atmospheres to be God's purpose for me. Being a "feeler" prophet can be rough to socialize with others because I can pick up their emotions and it at times makes me feel uncomfortable. Especially with large number of people around gets very overwhelming for me. Too many emotions all at once. But this book is giving me alot of understanding and knowledge on how to use my gift properly. I am loving it! Can't wait to see the changes in people's hearts!

Excellent book! Learning to manage external and internal atmospheres and understanding where the sensitivity is coming from. The writing flows with real life experience to help solidify understanding. I'm going to read it again!

I've read much on warfare and spirits of the evil kind and I have to say that Dawna work here is seasoned with mature wisdom and revelation. I am thrilled that in the Fathers timing He is sending forth the strategies from heaven for His bride in advance before that Day. This is one of those books that you can say " Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the church". Time for the bride to wake up and take dominion and stand in the authority that is yours to walk in !!

This book is good at explaining a person’s ability to enfluence those around them by walking in their true identity. We died with Christ and were raised with Him and now we identify with Him!

This book is a turd. Shame on you Dover for producing such a POS. Images inside are drawn weakly at best.. if you call crosshatching detail.. your nuts. There are maybe 5 images of Gargoyles. The rest must be grotesques I guesss, meaning bad drawThere are a few images that are in the book twice. Just filler crap. Do not buy this book! Big disappointment.

I love the fact that the "gargoyles and grotesques" are portrayed in such detail. I am disappointed however that some of the images that I ordered this for were not shown. They were in the original book, but not this edition. I would definitely recommend this book, though.

It is what it is, and it is very good at being that. The CD comes with high and low resolution images for use in different applications. Very few images come with any visual context and there is no hint as to what building the images are from.

great reference, lots of pics, clear and diverse, a great tool for any artist book shelf or library dover always comes through.

Story lacks even for a board book. My 18 m old got bored just pushing the buttons in 2 days. The sounds are loud and not pleasant.

 Baby Robot is an adorable interactive board book for toddlers and younger readers. This book lights up and plays various robot sounds, has bright engaging illustrations, and a very simple to follow story. The story itself is very very short - this book is literally 10 pages long (four pages to turn) and is pretty much a story about Baby Robot's day, how he gets tired and needs to recharge. Every two pages there are small areas to press that will trigger sounds/music or lights/sounds. The two lighted areas are the cover of the book and the last page of the book. On the back cover there's a battery area you can access with a small screwdriver as well as an on/off switch.One thing I particularly liked about the book is that the buttons are not hard to locate/press for young children. The buttons to trigger the lights and sound are flat and look like wire mesh covered with plastic - it take only a light touch to trigger the sounds. The sounds come from the back of the book where the battery case is - this book leans on the loud side, but you can always put a piece of mailing tape over the speaker to make it a bit quieter. Overall, this is a fun book to give to any young reader. It's a simple cute book and the robot sounds make it all the more charming.

My 2.5yo requests this book every night; he calls it "Baby Robot." He enjoys the lights and sounds, and he likes pressing the buttons to make the sounds and point out and say the objects in the book. He doesn't have the patience though to listen to the story the whole way through, and honestly neither do I have the patience to read every word. The conversations between Big Robot and Little Robot are a little strange. I feel they're just a way to present the objects they talk about because they have the sounds (ie a phone and a music box). Also, not a fan of the illustrations; looks like a computer drew them. That said, my little guy obviously still enjoys the book for the fun sounds and lights, so that makes me happy.

This is a cute little book. I have a 2 year old and a nearly 5 year old, they both enjoyed this book. I feel like it was a little more appropriate for the 2 year old, he especially enjoyed the lights and wide range of sounds that the robot makes. My 5 year old understood the short story line and they both liked the illustrations. I like that the sound box has an on/off switch, small enough that the child may not notice it and turn it back on after I have turned it off! I also liked that it played a wide variety of melodies as well as the traditional robot noises. I did deduct one star because the volume of the sounds is quite loud!

What a fun book! There's a spot on each 2-page spread of this 10 page book to push a button and make lively sounds, though you need to turn on the switch on the back cover first. I'm sure the toddlers will quickly find and learn to turn on the switch. One of the teaching goals in the book is the message that "we all need a rest to be at our best!", and presumably you would want to read this book at bedtime. However, the sounds are very loud and there is no way to control the volume; my concern is that the loud sounds and flashing lights will actually stimulate the child rather than make her want to go to sleep.

Both of my daughters, 18 months and 3.5 years, LOVE this book. However, it annoys me to no end!We have several books with sounds. This one surpasses them all on the annoyance scale. Usually sound books say something or sing something. This one is full of random robot noises. After about twice through the book, I want to tear it up and throw it out. It has an off button, but both of my kids have figured that one out, so no dice. As for the story, it's pretty disconnected, but not bad for small children. I do like that it is a sturdy board book, so it doesn't tear up under toddler pressure.

The storyline is fairly weak and even given the number of pages it seems like an afterthought. The sounds and lights were entertaining for an infant, kudos to that. There are literally only 8 pages inside and only 4 pieces of cardboard (front/back) besides the covers. It's pretty disappointing.. This is a cute, and very short light up story book. Pages are quite strong. Somewhat difficult to turn the pages for my 3.5 year old. It came with batteries; and there is an on and off button. Cool sounds begin when you turn the page and press on a button (not press but rather touch it). I had an issue with one of the pages, where the button does not work. Moreover i feel like this is very short of a story. It seemed to have captured my sons attention, and my other son who is 1.5 year old. But literally after 5 minutes, the book was on the floor and no one showed any interest.
